Please follow this guide to set up your GXP2135 handsets for use. This guide is for users who have purchased their phones from ourselves only. 


Before starting setting up the GXP2135, you need to ensure that the device is set up and configured on the self-care portal. If you do not have access to the self-care portal, then please advise us which extension(s) you want to be configured on the devices and we will get this done for you. If you have access, then please follow the below steps to configure the device on the PBX...


  1. Login to self-care (https://portal.numbergroup.com) as normal.

  2. Click on "Luna PBX" at the top.

  3. Click on 'Handsets'.

  4. This page shows all the devices linked to your account. They are sorted by device MAC address. If this is the 1st device you have obtained from us, it will likely be the only device listed on the left. Select it by clicking on the MAC address on the left-hand side, which will then populate the settings section in the middle of the screen. If you have multiple handsets and you are unsure which is which, select each in turn, and look at the top 'Details' box. In there. there is a "Handset Type" box, which explains what device the MAC is related to. You can also give the device a 'User-Friendly' name in the 'Name' box if you so wish.

  5. Below this, at the bottom of the screen is the "Lines" section. This is where you configure the handsets with the extension(s) you want to be allocated to them. Each handset represents one "Line". In each case, enable the handset, and using the right hand most drop-down list, select the extension you want to be configured on that DP720 device. Repeat for each line you have available.

  6. Below this, you will see a "Virtual Keys" section. This relates to the Virtual keys which can be configured on the device. In the case of the GXP2135, you can configure up to 32. Normally, we would advise sticking to the 4 dedicated lines the phone has, which also support BLF (Busy Lamp Function). For more details on this, please see the article here.

  7. Once done, click on the save at the bottom.

Once done, you are now ready to unpack, install and configure the device...


  1. Remove the phone from the box, along with the stand, handset, curly cable and, if required, the Power supply. A network cable is also supplied.

  2. Install the required stand on the back of the phone.

  3. Plug the curly cable into the handset and then plug the other end into the "Handset" port on the back of the phone.



  4. If you are using PoE, plug the ethernet cable into the "LAN" port. This should connect the phone to the local network and you should see it power on. If you do not have a PoE switch or have a phone which doesn't support PoE, then plug the network cable into the LAN port and then power cable into the "DC 12v" port.

  5. The'PC' port is used as a passthrough, so in the event you already have a network cable plugged into your local computer, you can relocate this to the LAN port of the phone, and then run another network cable from the 'PC' port on the phone to your computer. The idea is that you do not need any additional network infrastructure to support any new deployment of phones*.

  6. If you intend to use a headset with the phone, this plugs into the 'Headset' port. You will need a headset with an RJ9 plug.

  7. Once the phone has booted, you may see a note on the screen about a firmware update. Agree to this if it should appear. Otherwise, you may note the phone reboots a few times. This is perfectly normal. Once complete, the phone should be updated and provisioned as per the portal.

* - We have noticed that if you utilize the passthrough feature on the phone, the physical bandwidth you can achieve may be reduced. Please bear this in mind if you require large amounts of network bandwidth on your PC/Mac.
